
Madeira Embroidery celebrates World Tourism Day - September
Tomorrow, Madeira Wine and Embroidery will be promoted in the World Tourism Day celebrations, an initiative of the Madeira Wine, Embroidery, and Handicraft Institute, P. I., aimed at the promotion of our regional products among tourists visiting the island of Madeira.
At the Cable Car station of Madeira, next to the Garden of Almirante Reis, between 11:00 and 13:00 tourists will have the opportunity to taste Madeira Wine and honey cake and simultaneously take in the exhibition which has been open since August 22nd in this space with the title “Art with Madeira Wine” developed by local artists who were inspired by our wine heritage and transposed to the barrels their interpretation, their concept of historical and cultural legacy. Here, we once again honour the artists involved and appreciate their work, specifically, Teresa Jardim, Helena Berenguer, Sílvio Cró, Guareta Sousa, Ricardo Veloza, Luísa Spínola, Trindade Viera, Ricardo Barbeito, Martim Veloza, Rita Rodrigues, Valentino Pereira, Luz Ornelas and Susana Ornelas. In the afternoon, between 16:00 and 18:00 in the Madeira International Airport in the arrivals hall, Madeira Wine tastings will be offered and at the same time Madeira Embroidery will be promoted with the presence of an embroiderer who will be demonstrating the art of embroidery.
