Maison et Objet
Maison et ObjetThe Madeira Wine, Embroidery and Handicrafts Institute (IVBAM), promoted the presence of the Madeira Embroidery sector at the Maison et Objet fair, one of the most highly recognised fairs, to the world level with a supply of high level products dedicated to decoration, furniture, design and household textiles essentially for professionals. The fair takes place from 25 to 29 of January at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre.
Besides the press who will be present at this event, João Eduardo de Sousa, Ltd. will be presenting its collection and there will also be other items displayed representing this sector, supplied by several producing companies. The committee is comprised of the President of IVBAM, Engineer Paulo Rodrigues, the Head of the Promotion Division of IVBAM, Dr. Rita Galvão and by the representative of the participating company, Mr. Sá e Sousa.
Madeira Embroidery is displayed at a 30 m2 stand aiming to position this product in the luxury segment, both through the contexts created, where the Madeira Laurissilva and its pebbled beaches are present, similar to the Madeira Christmas campaign, as well as small details that highlight the value of the items, for their aesthetic sense and their implicit production process.
Madeira’s presence at this event is of great relevance in the promotion of Madeira Embroidery, not only in the French market, where the fair is held, but since this is considered to be a fair that affects all markets, its impact will be felt in other areas of the globe. The fair is visited by professionals/buyers from the whole world including those from Middle Eastern countries.
Following on the contacts already established during the past year, invitations were sent to potential buyers, journalists and opinion makers.

This activity is part of a Project which is 65% co-financed by FEDER -Plan to Protect and Renew Madeira’s Handicrafts and was created as the follow-up of previous participations in the French market, as for example, the previous edition of this fair, which took place last September and in the business delegation to Paris that took place in May last year and which included an exhibition of Madeira Embroidery at the Portuguese Embassy.
